The mission of the Medical Mission Sisters echoes in the 17 Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations. One of the goals, to be achieved by 2030, is to end poverty. Understanding that economic poverty is a contributor to poverty of spirit, Associate Sr. Selena Wilson, OP, and Medical Mission Sister Lucy Klein-Gebbinck have chosen to live as a ministry of presence in Camden, NJ. Camden is the poorest big city of its size in the U.S. The Sisters believe their stability, care for their environment and friendly engagement with their neighbors provide hope and healing in the face of the social, spiritual, emotional and economic distress in their neighborhood.
