World Environment Day

World Environment Day, June 5, is recognized annually around the world as the “people’s day” to contribute to the care of the Earth. This is an issue very close to the heart of our Sisters and Associates, who honor the inherent interconnectedness of all life.

On a grassy hill in the North Indian city of Pune, Maharashtra, MMS continue their work planting trees along with organic farming. Once a barren piece of land, MMS have transformed it into a “green zone,” where local community members frequently are invited to learn about and participate in their holistic approach to caring for the land.
